We approach design as a transformative tool — a process that reveals and re-negotiates relationships between people, objects, and their environment.
STUDIO MORITZ PUTZIER is a multidisciplinary design studio based in Cologne, working at the intersection of product, people, and environment. Since founding the studio in 2015, Moritz Putzier has developed furniture, lighting, industrial products, and spatial concepts for a wide range of clients and contexts.
His work is driven by an interest in how design shapes everyday experiences and mediates relationships between people and their surroundings. Through close observation, technical refinement, and a sensitivity to context, the studio seeks to uncover new perspectives and create meaningful, long-lasting design solutions. Projects have been recognized with several international design awards and exhibited internationally.
Alongside his studio practice, Moritz Putzier teaches product design at the Hochschule der Bildenden Künste Saar, where he is responsible for the foundation program.
His teaching combines guidance and experimentation with critical reflection and hands-on making. Students are encouraged to develop independent design positions, strengthen their methodological and practical skills, and engage with the broader social, cultural, and environmental contexts of design.
